Gushul Residency in full swing!

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

For the month of August, Christopher Moore and Kelaine Devine are exploring the Crowsnest Pass at the Gushul Studio in Blairmore.

From Kelaine:

Howdy!

I’m on an artist residency in the Crowsnest Pass for the month of August with friend/fellow artist Christopher Moore. We are researching tourist culture through artistic means and have completely become enamoured with a book on Dude Ranches.

We are keeping a blog of our project: http://www.myblairmore.com We are updating several times a day with things that we find interesting. I hope you check in regularly. We love feedback.

Thanks!

Kelaine

We are excited to see what happens during the month, and feel free to join us all on August 29th for the open house and special Dr. Sketchy’s!

Thank you to everyone who applied for the trap\door annual juried call for submissions. For those who applied and awaiting the news, sit for just a little bit longer. You should be hearing about the decision in early July. Thank you for your patience and thank you for the submissions!

THANK YOU!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Thanks to everyone who supported our Psychic Fair and Artist Side Show! It was a great success; thanks especially to Charlie the Cyclops and Roderick the Wolfdwarf, who no doubt traumatized more than one unwary visitor.

Guests were treated to a cabinet of curiosities which displayed a collection of oddities from Kurt Cobain’s long lost locks to a crystal skull to a haunted key; a demonstration of the Hand of Glory by illusionist Frater Tham; astrology, I-Ching, and aura readings; and even had a chance to become a ghostly piano player themselves.

Thanks to participants and organizers:

Aaron Hagan, Becky Johnston, Corinne Theissen Hepher, Darcy Logan, David Hoffos, David Farstad, Kelaine Devine, Len Komanac, Loralee Edwards, Matthew Holden, Maria Madacky, Mary-Anne McTrowe, Mike Maguire, Naomi Sato, Robert Bechtel, and Sarah Christensen.

Thanks also to the Potemkin Collective, who took care of the lighting for the event.
